GLENDALE, Arizona — It’s been more than six years since Rihanna released an album, and the fan demand for new music is deafening.

Rihanna hears you, she sees you, and she’s joking.

The singer and fashion mogul has released a teaser for her upcoming Super Bowl halftime show on social media, acknowledging the desire for new tunes.

In the video, we see Rihanna walking towards the camera, dressed to the hilt in what appears to be a black bodysuit, brightly colored fur, large jewelry, stunning makeup (she’s the creator of the Fenty line, after all), and an elaborate haircut.

Sound bites can be heard of people saying things like, “It’s been two thousand ninety days,” “Rihanna, we’ve been waiting for you,” and “Rihanna is what everyone’s been waiting for” before all disappearing into a cacophony of sound.

Rihanna then puts her finger to her lips in a “shhh” gesture, while her 2016 song “Needed Me” can be heard playing while singing “You need me.”

Indeed.

Technically, new music has been released since her 2016 hit album ‘Anti’.

Canadian singer PartyNextDoor dropped “PartyMobile” in 2020, featuring Rihanna on the song “Believe It”.

Her song “Lift Me Up” from the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” soundtrack was released last year and is a firm favorite for an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.
