Watch the trailer for the Hulu miniseries that finally continues the 1981 comedy epic
More than 40 years after Mel Brooks had the presence of mind to title his 1981 epic comedy History of the World, Part Ithe film’s sequel is finally set for release with a similar all-star ensemble and basically loose depiction of historical events.
Unlike its predecessor – which crammed ages into 90 minutes – History of the World, Part II will be a four-night event, starting March 6 on Hulu.
Nick Kroll, Ike Barinholtz, Wanda Sykes and Brooks themselves lead the cast, which also includes Quinta Brunson, Seth Rogen (as Noah, of “The Ark” fame), Zazie Beatz, Dove Cameron, Kumail Nanjiani, Sarah Silverman, Taika Waititi and in dozens more will appear over the course of the miniseries.
The new teaser for Part II — hosted by Brooks, who co-wrote the miniseries — previews some of the historical figures whose stories will be spoofed: Alexander Graham Bell, Ulysses Grant, Sigmund Freud, Rasputin, Amelia Earhart, Harriet Tubman, Kublai Khan, and Jesus Christ .
Also Josh Gad, Johnny Knoxville, Emily Ratajkowski, JB Smoove, Jay Ellis, Danny Devito, Pamela Adlon… which is exactly who is mentioned in the teaser.
